Gloria Petyarre country is Anungara, and this is the inspiration for all her work. She has a unique style, using abstract methods to represent leaves, grasses & body paint in a monochromatic colour scheme.
Gloria paints ‘awelye’, body paint applied for ceremonies, with symbolic marks that represent women’s knowledge for their land.
