Damien & Yilpi Marks

Damien Marks is a Luritja man born 1967 at Ikuntji or Haasts Bluff, Northern Territory. Artist influence include tuition by the greats, Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri, Uta Uta Tjangala and Billy Stockman all first generational artists of the Papunya movement. Yilpi Marks is a Pintupi woman born 1969 at Ernabella, Northern Territory. Yilpi paints inherited stories from her mother Tjulkiwa Atira-Atira and Nyukana Baker (deceased) both established artists known for their artworks held in the Art Gallery of South Australia.
My country is a collaborative by the Marks representing both important Men’s and Women’s sites and meeting places situated on their traditional homelands.
