Makinti Napanangka was born at Lake MacDonald in 1930. She and her husband then moved to Haasts Bluff, where they lived until 1960. Makiniti began painting in 1995, and commenced painting for the Papunya Tula Artists in 1996, together with her cousin Tatali Nangala.
Makinti represents prominent aspects of the Pintupi ancestral stories, such as hairstring skirts of the tribe women wore during ceremonies.
In the January 2003 issue of Australia Art Collector, Makinti was named among the top 50 of Australia’a Most Collectable Artists.
