Raymond Maxwell Tjampitjinpa was born at Haasts Bluff, Northern Territory. His father is George Maxwell Tjangala and his mother is Pantijya Nungurrayi. Raymond’s artwork encompasses inherited stories from his Father’s country, south west of Walungurra, including the important man’s sites at Kaakuratintja and Mitukatjirri. Other main Dreamings include his Grandfather’s country of Marnipi and occasionally, stories from Kungkayunti, his mother’s country.
